Hunter's Story

For me, my adolescent years were hard. I was searching for direction and purpose, and I often felt confused and let down by traditional systems that didn’t work for me or for many of the people around me.

Everything changed when I found Frank Dando Sports Academy – a school that teaches life skills through martial arts, fitness and core subjects, with a no‑nonsense approach. From there I pursued my passion for Muay Thai, competing at a professional level and spending a year living and training at a gym in Bangkok. The structure in martial arts gave me purpose and the confidence to thrive in every environment outside the sport.

My story isn’t unique. I’ve watched close family members, friends and peers from diverse and challenging backgrounds do the same.

My love for the outdoors, fitness and overall health led me to founding Forge Active, so I can help boys navigate the most important years of their lives.

Hunter is experienced supporting boys and men with ASD, ADHD, FASD, schizophrenia and mental health challenges. As well as a lifetime of lived experience with a close family member.
